In 1902, ice magnate Charles W. Morse offered the City of Bath a gift of $50,000 to build a new high school. The building was dedicated in 1904 and named in honor of his mother, Annie E. J. Morse. The original structure burned in 1928 and on September 16, 1929, the current high school was dedicated.
